Remembering Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol Movie

Two men were chasing, first on foot and then on cars. Then suddenly, sandstorm came and hit the city. The chase became even more intense until their cars made a head to head collision. The other man stood up, walked as if nothing happened.

For those who have watched the super intense action hit movie Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, which stars Tom Cruise, that was one of the scenes. As a Dubai resident for almost 5 years now, I thought that time when we were watching the movie on a big screen that the location was just a computer generated one. Which was for me, a never-before-seen bridge wonderfully designed with curved bar railings. But I found myself wrong when we were actually standing on the very place yesterday on an unexpected event.

Why We Got There

The bridge was actually in front of the world famous Meydan Racecourse in Dubai. It is actually the access for VIPs that will come to the racecourse on any major events.

Meydan is just one of the multi million dollar projects of Dubai, UAE that surely helped improve its status as one of the best tourist destinations.

So why did we get there? It was a long story that is not worth telling for. LOL!

Flock Of Pigeons In The City

♫♪ Wish I was a bird... ♫♪

Another BlackBerry Moments* with me and my son one, afternoon in Al Satwa Road near to our place here in Dubai, UAE.

This flock of pigeons is just one of the so many flocks that you can find in every street or corner in this country.

It gives more attraction to a place where scraping towers are sprouting everywhere.

I always feel different to be closer with the other creations such as these that even my son asked me to stop and had a deep observation on how they behaved when people stand near to them. Seeing them is far better than visiting a zoo knowing that they are free from captivity. Though these pigeons are somewhat tamed already. They were never bothered as long as they could have their meal before resting and having a good night sleep somewhere.

* I am just playing with the famous Kodak tag line "Kodak Moments", hence BlackBerry Moments. :)

Did you know: that pigeons have contributed to both World War I and II, notably by the Australian, French, German, American, and UK forces. 32 Pigeons have been decorated with the Dickin Medal for war contributions, including Commando, G.I. Joe, Paddy, and William of Orange.

Cher Ami, a homing pigeon in World War I, was awarded the Croix de Guerre Medal with a palm Oak Leaf Cluster for his service in Verdun and for delivering the message that saved the Lost Battalion of the 77th Infantry Division in the Battle of the Argonne, October 1918. When Cher Ami died, he was mounted and is part of the permanent exhibit at the National Museum of American History of the Smithsonian Institution.

A grand ceremony was held in Buckingham Palace to commemorate a platoon of pigeons that braved the battlefields of Normandy to deliver vital plans to Allied forces on the fringes of Germany. Review: BlackBerry Photo Studio App

April 19 is the last day of operation of my favorite free online photo editing Picnik.com then its movement to Google+. Google's social network.

Most if not all of my BlackBerry images here in my blog were usually edited through Picnik, but with this development, I have started searching a good alternative because I am not sure if the accessibility of Picnik in Google+ later would be as easier like It is now.

Good thing I found this one BlackBerry application Photo Studio. Again, I only avail for now the free version but pro is available for a minimal fee. I like the simplicity and the user friendly features of this photo studio app. Features like, frames, effects, change of colors and you can adjust the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and a lot more.

How to get this, see the following Jiffy screen shots below:

• Go to your BlackBerry App World.

• After searching "Photo Studio" in the search box, you will see the choices as the one below. Select "Photo Studio" and download.

• When download is complete, go to downloads tray and start editing your photos.

• Simply follow the instruction below. You may tick the "Don't show again" box if you don't want to be prompted again with this message.

• This is now my raw photo of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the World's Tallest Tower.

• You can change the effects whichever you think fitting to your photo and you can also add frames to make it more appealing.

• And these are the final results. These will be saved automatically to your public library. You can save it in JPEG and other common formats and print or post in Facebook.

No worries this time even if picnik will move right now to Google+, I have this cool Photo Studio app already. Very easy and convenient to use anywhere, anytime.

If Only I Could Read His Mind

What washe thinking? What do you think would it be? Whew! If only I could read his mind, I'm sure it would've been  fun.

Perhaps he’scontemplating why the train he's taking has no disturbing sound and differentto the one he saw on TV? "Ahhh, dili man ni train Tay" (Ahhh, thisisn't a train Dad)! These were his words when we first stepped on train sincehe came in Dubai. :) He's used to hearing those "cho cho" trainsounds in Thomas and Friends.

He couldbe singing a Beatles' song perhaps that goes like, "A long NOT windingroad...." LOL!

Anyway, I took this BB pic of my 2 year old son, on Dubai Metro on our way to pick up hisNanay (mother) from work. 

Only a child sees things with perfect clarity, because it hasn't developed all those filters which prevent us from seeing things that we don't expect to see.
