This is the Al Ghurair Mosque, taken from a window of our former place in Al Satwa, Dubai UAE at 5:45 pm 2nd of September 2011. Almost every prayer time, this mosque is filled with Muslim devotees.
I am always fascinated with architecture, and in this one, I love to see how evenly designed those domes are and how visible the minaret is.
Did you know: that the earliest mosques were built without minarets, the call to prayer was performed elsewhere; hadiths relay that the Muslim community of Madina gave the call to prayer from the roof of the house of Muhammad, which doubled as a place for prayer? Source: wikipedia.org
